Halloween Chaos

Our Halloween this year was a little different than most. We had a Halloween party at our church a few nights prior to Halloween which was a blast. They had dancing, a haunted house, games and tons of food. Micah had a lot of fun.

Then there was Saturday, Halloween day. Which was Chaos. We were in the process of moving out of our home and we didn'nt finish as early as we would have liked. We were supposed to be pretty much done Fri. But all the little things here and there took longer to move than expected. Then there was the FINAL cleaning. Luckily I have great neighbors and family that came over and helped. I have to admit I took a little pleasure in watching a bunch of women run around with vacuums and rags all working together to clean my house. It helped a ton.

So by the afternoon we were pretty much done except the garage. The whole day I kept thinking, I wish Halloween was on a different day so I could relax and enjoy it more instead of rushing out of my home. So it was later in the afternoon and Carlos had been working so hard moving things that I sent him to our new home with the kids to take a breather while I finished the garage. It seemed like 5 minutes past and next thing I know I have cute little trick-or-treaters coming to my door. Mind you my house was completley empty and we were supposed to go to Stansbury Park to trick-or-treat with cousins. I didn't even think that I would still be home. Everything was taking forever to get done. I remembered where I had a bowl of misc candy in a box. I ran in the house and grabbed it and put it on the porch. I felt like such a party pooper. I just continued cleaning and boxing as kids came up to the house, I just told them to grab some candy out of the bowl on the porch. I know I am a lamo.

Then I thought to myself, Oh great, now (after moving and cleaning literally ALL day) I get to walk around the neighborhood forever to take my own kids trick-or-treating. Once again my neighbors saved the day. My friend Jaime's husband Aaron took Micah with his 4 boys. Micah had a blast and I got to sit down for a few minutes. He was a live saver!

So there you go, I almost forgot to celebrate Halloween. P.s. We did not sell our home. We rented it out to someone for a year. The economy has been too unsteady for too long and we are just trying to take a step back and get our feet back under ourselves. We are staying in the neighborhood and are lucky to not have to make too many changes. We are grateful for what we have been given and the experiences that we can learn from in life. I am so very grateful for amazing people that have been put into my life to help me through the rough times.

SeaWorld visits Jet Blue

Last week we were able to check out a few animals that were brought in from SeaWorld. Micah had tons of fun. I thought it was pretty cool that we were able to touch the real alligator. I can't believe all the kids that were touching all over that thing. If I was just laying on a table and I had 20 kids poking me I would open my big mouth and bite them. Poor alligator. Then there was the cute little armidillo and the other favorite was the bird that is called a Screamer. I guess some people use them as watch dogs and when an unknown person comes on ones property they scream really loud. We had a good time!

The things kids say

This is too funny not to post about. Okay, so I told Micah to clean up his toys this morning and he told me "no". No suprise right? Well then told me " I can do whatever I want because my balls are getting bigger mom! (His words, I swear). I was trying not to laugh at him because I knew if I did he would think it was funny and start saying it all the time.

Ahhh...... children. I love my children!

Update at the Garcia Household

Alrighty, things have been pretty busy around here. Here is an update on everyone.

Carlos... was let go by his Mortgage Company last week. Which isn't the biggest surprise with the Economy and all. He has been working for JetBlue for the past month. He is doing reservations in Spanish. I would like to say he loves it, but not really. It is hard for him to sit in one spot and be on the phone with call after call after call. He has been on his own time schedule for the past 10 years pretty much and it is hard for him to HAVE to sit in one spot and not get up and move around. On a positive note we get cheap Health Insurance and Free flights. So we are hoping to go on a trip to Cali or something for a few days just because we can. He is currently applying for jobs for hours on end online. Not much luck.

Me... I have been busy trying to build our new business with Nucerity, keep real estate going and be a stay at home mom. It seems like I can spend an entire day being productive and working, cleaning, calming children down, feeding, changing, washing, driving, selling, marketing and then at the end of the day I realize I had 10 more things on my list. Don't get me wrong, I would rather be busy than bored, but it would just be nice to feel like I am on top of something for once.

Micah... He has now started soccer. His first game he was VERY upset that he did not make a goal. He said he would never play soccer again. So we bribed him and told him if he played again and had a good attitude than we would buy him a Star Wars toy. So he played his second game last week and LOVED it. Wanna know why? He scored 2 goals. One was in the other teams goal. But hey, it counts right? He was soooo happy. Now he loves soccer.

Here's the scary ending to a fun day at soccer. We were walking home from the game and we were standing in between 2 parked cars that were parked on the street. I saw a car coming and told Micah to wait. He stood next to me waiting for about 5 seconds and then said "Ok GO!" and then began to run into the street. I yelled NOOOOO!!!!!! He ran right in front of the SUV. They were probably going about 35 mph. He stopped and ran back to me and the car swirved. My heart STOPPED for about 5 minutes. I could not believe what just happened. He has never done that before. Especially since I just told him a car was coming. I could not stop thinking how lucky he was and everyone involved was that that car did not hit him. The car just kept going. in that instant I could have lost my little boy. I don't even want to write about it anymore because it makes me want to cry.

Moving along.... Mia went up her first 2 stairs and shortly fell down her first 2 stairs. I was in the back yard playing with Micah at my brothers and Carlos was in the house watching a football game. He was "supposedly" Mia. Well I guess he thought my mom was watching her and next thing we knew she was crying. We didn't even know she could go up the stairs. I guess you got to find out somehow.

We took her in to get her flu shot this week. She is now 9 month and almost 23 lbs. Which puts her at 95% for her height and weight. She has been so much fun. She already loves playing with Micah and all his toys. Her favorite thing is music and to watch Micah jump up and down. She will laugh so hard when he jumps, its halarious!

And there you go, there is our life lately!

Gratitute

Where does the time go. It seem like yesterday I was in the Hospital waiting for my baby to come into our family and here she is chubby cheeks and all.

Today I felt a strong feeling of gratitude. I am so lucky to wake up next to my husband and go to my childrens room and look at there beautiful faces. To get to see theirs eyes light up at the sight of their mother. I am grateful that I am able to even have children, I am grateful to be able to satisfy their needs, I grateful for the gospel, I am grateful for today and for the hopes of a tomorrow. I am grateful for my loving family both near and far, And most of all I am grateful for MY LIFE!

I had a friend ask me today " Do you ever pray to Heavenly Father and thank him for the doors that close?" I thought alot about that today. Sometimes I realize that a door may have been "closed" for a reason, but do I thank Heavenly Father for it? The answere is more often times... No.

Without the trials I have been through in life, I would not be who I am today. I believe there is no other way to gain strength than through our trials. I thought to myself... If I were to gather 50 of my close friends and we could all throw our trials in a big pile and pick out others. I would probably pick out the ones I already had. Those are my trials and I know they were meant for me.

But today I am grateful for what I do have. Beautiful children. I was taking some pictures of Mia today and thought to myself what a sweet, inocent, loving angel, and she has been sent here to me. ME! I have trials, but you know what? I love my life, I love my family and I love my Savior and that is all I need.

The "Drive In"

I just love my neighbors! They are always doing fun little activities. This is the "Drive In". All of the preschool age kids were invited to come watch the movie Cars in my neighbors back yard. They were told to bring a fun car or make a car out of a box and bring it to sit in. Well Micah didn't have a car and we were running late and didn't have time to make one from a box so he brought his Diego bike. Not like the kids sat in them for more than 5 min anyway. The kids were given tickets for free popcorn, drinks and treats. They all felt so special. It was so much fun. As you can see from the pictures, it started out nice and organized and then just went into craziness. But all and all the adults and kids had a blast. Thanks to all my cute neighbors. You guys are awesome! (Just noticed my pics are in reverse order for some reason. Ooops! Oh well.

Bribes

Thia is what Micah likes to do for being a good boy. I let him play with his Spiderman mask. He has had it for going on 3 years now. He would wear it all day everyday if I let him. He always tries to convince me that he needs to wear it when we go out incase there are any bad guys. Then he can save everyone.

So when he is really good he asks if he can play with his costume and if I will take pics. So, here you go.
